We can't do Space Vikings. That's too similar to our other game. I was wanting to make a Fable clone... except... you know... make it better. Maybe merge WoW and Fable. I wanted a much more advanced NPC system. Like we make a huge living world that will advance and expand as time goes on.
And have a system where if you kill a person early in the game, they won't produce offspring that will help you later in the game. It will be Fable on steroids, but in an online atmosphere. The kind that Fable 2 tried to accomplish but failed since they couldn't import their entire character... the bastards.
That's my idea. Take Fable and make it more realistic and expand it to a ridiculous size. Hell, let's consider making it go through industrial revolutions. Start with medieval and work our way to the future. How kick ass would that be?

No VA...
but yes Drew. YES!!!!! This would be a great start-up project...i mean its not super ambitious, its an RPG/ MMO making it highly adaptable, and with fluid controls like Fable's it'll be awesome! YES +1
So how shall we start?

This would be a great start-up project...i mean its not super ambitious, its an RPG/ MMO making it highly adaptable, and with fluid controls like Fable's it'll be awesome! YES +1 So how shall we start? We shall start by thinking up ways to 1-up Fable... GO! 1) A world instead of a small country. 2) Mash all of the skills of WoW, RuneScape, and Fable together. 3) Clans. PvP Arenas. 4) WoW open environment. Go anywhere. 5) Once again, consoles only. Issue we're already running into: Fable did everything so right... it's hard to mimic it without flat-out copying it. Other things: 1) Customizable weapons? (A way to take augmentations a step further...) 2) Age? Is the player going to age naturally, through set periods, or not at all? 3) MMORPG? Have a massive one with hundreds or a smaller one with 10-20? 4) Unique characters. Everyone will be different. Everyone will have their own name. Everyone will have a set path and life (maybe not set - it'll be easier to make it randomized). Like I said earlier, killing off one guy could cause generations of people to not get born. With that knowledge, maybe players will feel more attached to people and actually care if they live or die.

1. Wars can lead to uprisings.
2. You can start wars.
3. Many different jobs, all changing with the time period.
4. Add city like customization like Sim City if you own enough land.
5. Vanguard Alias is in the game.
6. YOU JUST LOST THE GAME
7. Not just country size map, but worldwide.
8. Exploration on GTA level.
9. Virtual Reality.
10. 100's of people, they are split equally among the countries.
11. Massive scale War ( please refer to #1)
12. Time starts at around 2000 B.C. and leads to 2500 A.D. ( Game will last around 500 hours at longest. 250 at shortest)
13. Technologies ( Think Civ IV scale )
That is all for now.

( Game will last around 500 hours at longest. 250 at shortest) 13. Technologies ( Think Civ IV scale ) That is all for now. 2) Love it. Get in charge of a nation and attack others with people under your command or something... lots of potential. 3) Good, good... 4) Errr... this may be a bit harder... It should have big cities, but if we get New York sized it will get a bit ridiculous. But a building-buying system would be good. 5) As long as there are no copyright infringements, we can. 6) Errr... 9) ...? 10) Hundreds of NPCs or actual people? Cause I was kind of favoring the Fable 2 style of inviting who you want. Since when someone dies, they DIE, you don't want a level 70 running around killing everyone. 11) Referred. Expansion pack: another planet challenges yours to battle. Epic. 12) While a good idea, that will be... uhhh... VERY HARD to playtest. And we'll have to rethink things. Like magic. Is there magic in the future? How will we go about upgrading weapons? How will we transition eras without flat out changing them? What should be a day in game-time? 5 minutes? Will there be vehicles? Flying vehicles? Underwater vehicles? Giant underwater monsters? How about zones? Fable-style with relatively small zones or WoW style with big ones? How will the upgrade system work without the player feeling overwhelmed? How We'll Do Stuff: 1) Every NPC has name: Name generator. Can't use the same last name twice. We're going to have a lot of fun with this one. Then there will be characters (famous ones) that have set names so that their names can be used in dialogue. 2) NPC offspring: There will be a 70% chance that two people will get married. Out of the 70% that marry, 80% of that 70% will have children. Then the process repeats. How many kids will depend on the house (small house - 1-2 kids, med - 2-3, big - 3-5). If there are no more houses for sale, they will simply build a new one, thus expanding the world. Careers? 50% chance the kids will be same as parents. It's a pretty hard first project. We'll probably have to dumb it down... a lot. If you want to make our lives easier, we can just start with two countries, then release the rest of the world as DLC (cost = free). Then later on, an entirely new planet.

Sweet, most of my ideas are good!
4. I'm thinking Pittsburgh size
5. You have my consent to use my likeness, and manipulate it in anyway.
10. Real people, and of course 1000s of NPCs
12. We hire Interns to test it all! None stop. They don't get food, water, or sleep untill completed.
NO MAGIC! I hate magic RPGs. Even though MASS EFFECT is one of my favorite games, they still included a "magic" like system, which I was not too happy with. Era changes must transition like it would have in real life, as time goes on, more modern buildings are build. Old buildings may be destroyed to build new ones, or may be left there. I want to keep it close to our reality. Airplanes, cars, tanks, boats, all with a slight tint to their designs. No monsters in my opinion, unless they look like the Kraken in CLASH OF THE TITANS! HE HE
All families should have an Origin country, which will effect their feeling, attitudes, looks, and of course Accents. We can't have a German last name who sounds Irish and is a Ginger, can we now?
Which brings me to my next question, real countries, or made up countries?
And referring to #6 There are 34rules to the game.
1. You are playing the game 2. Whenever you think about the game. you lose 3. You just lost the game 4. You must announce to everyone that you possibly can that you just lost the game
It's real, it was actually banned in some Ohio School!

What does vanguard even mean? 10) Well now you're doing what my game books call "Pie-in-the-Sky" ideas. Ideas that are too ridiculous to be possible. The thousand NPCs is about right, but not that many players... 12) Or we can just... you know... make it smaller. Well we need to sort something out... You're making this game too much like our other planned game. The point of this game is to... uhhh... not be like the other game. Plus the fact that we don't REALLY want an MMORPG... we don't want to support it that long... because we'll be starting on the next game. And I think we want it to be more focused on sword fights... melee combat. Not shooting. And with magic, I think it's a must-have. Fable-style magic. I can't really imagine not having magic... O.O Definitely made-up countries. We want our creative juices to flow. We don't want to be limited by... reality... *shudders* Oh yeah, I remember that. I don't think of it as a game, though. I just put a blank thought in my head and think about it until I forget it. Then a month or two later I remember and try again. My game's objective is to see how long you can remember it, not try to forget it. ;D
