But... but... I did it... every year... for the past... 7 years... >_>
And plus it was BioShock and Resistance 2... and I couldn't let them sit there unplayed for another couple days...

You know I know how you feel Drew...
See my Dilemma is that I've become slightly obsessed with Fable 2. The game just intrigues me, not just from a gaming stand point, but also from the view of a future designer, and the view's of an admirer of fine art. It's on my brain. I can't wait for the DLC, and I really want to play it again.
You see, I know I'm gonna get it for Christmas. Either my relatives are gonna get it for me, or if they don't then on Christmas day I'm going out to Best Buy and using teh 60$ giftcards I've saved up since last year to buy it there. Except I'm anticipating playing this game again so much I almost wanna just go out and buy it now, or find my presents and play it before Christmas.
Seriously, I was up till 1:30 in the morning last night watching Fable 2 gamneplay videos to get certain achievements and secret items...and I had school the next day. I really can't wait for this game again and I can understand why you would want to play it early.
However! YOU MUST HAVE FORTITUDE!!! I refuse to brek Christmas tradition no matter how obsessed I may be! So next year, STEEL YOURSELF AGAINST THE DARKNESS OF TEMPTATION...and wait. Trust me it's all worth it way more on Christmas morning!

Well it wasn't the sort of thing were I spent hours begging my parents to let me open them, it was more like "Drew, you're getting your wisdom teeth out. Since you'll be wasting away on the couch, you might as well open a present early."
And I'm sickly obsessed with BioShock. I'm shaking with excitement when playing. And it's like what you said. I'm viewing the game from a developer's view and I notice things and wonder how the decision to include that was made.
I died seven times trying to kill a big daddy and I was smiling the entire time. And playing on the harder difficulty really improves the game. Especially with BioShock, since there's no penalty for death (which is awesome).
But yeah, you shouldn't stay up so late watching videos. That may lead to over-hyping... which is never a good thing. ;D

Yeah, but idk Fable 2's just one of those games. I opened it this morning and was like "YES!"
Then I went and played it for an hour before I went to my mom's to open my other gifts. And I got 3 achievements too! However also on the topic of Bioshock...that game is also one of the best games I've ever played. I mean, theres just so much quality to it! And entertainment! Plus it gives you one of the best story's I've ever seen. I won't spoil anything in case you haven't finished it, but the chapter or two before the ending is awesome! Theres super crazy plot twist that completely cayght me by suprise and just made me smile when it happened. bioshock is one of those games that takes everything you know and discover, and then flips it upside down. It's is just an amazing experience.
but i digress.
other then Fable 2, i got Left 4 Dead, Dead Space (another very good game, with a great story. Check it out) and Sonic and the Secret Rings (Wii)
Then Zack my little brother got Shaun White's Snowboarding something or other, Fallout 3, and Guitar Hero World Tour (but no drum set extra guitars etc.) He also got Medal of Honor Vangaurd(Wii)
Then I got a Bionicle, Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy(Full Series), First book of the Bartameius Trilogy Series, Pushing Ice (Alastair Reynolds), Halo:The Cole Protocol, The Dark Elf Trilogy (R.A. Salvatore), Icarus In Time (A beautiful almost picture book kinda thing, with pictures of the universe, and an underlying story about a reimaging of the old Icarus fable, but with a black hole instead of wax wings and teh sun), two dress shirts, a tie, a PITT shirt, 100$ worth of Best Buy Gift Cards, 100$ Debit card, 30$ cash, a 25$ check, Super Mario Bros 3 boxers, Xbox 360 boxers, some candy, an orange, a pair of jeans, a Dog Book, really nice socks, and a few other smaller things.
so what'd everyone else get?

It's the second playthrough, so spoilers are O.K. (for me, at least). The second time through is better because it's a harder difficulty and I notice new things while scrounging around for items. Comments on Mike's gifts: - Dead Space just wasn't my thing. I tried the demo and didn't really get into it.
- I think I've read the first book of the Barthamieueiueieus Series. I don't think I finished it, though. Not because it was boring but because I didn't have time.
- An orange? ;D
I got... BioShock, Resistance 2, Kingdom Hearts 2, Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy X-2, Final Fantasy XII, God of War II, TimeSplitters 2, Jak 3, and Resident Evil 4. That's the video games... Misc. stuff was a logic activity book sort of thing, a day-by-day calendar, a University of Illinois bumper sticker, t-shirt, and hoodie, a coffee mug, a notebook, a figurine of a chicken, a cow keychain, and that new book from J.K. Rowling. ;D Pictures of the sweet watch? And daaaaaaaang, James.
